Installation of battery energy storage systems in French Guiana

Missions
  • Defining the processes for managing cost, schedule and risk
  • Coordination of stakeholders, interface management, reporting
  • Acceptance of civil engineering works

setec eocen supports EDF in deploying battery energy storage systems (BESS).

EDF has launched an energy transition programme for the so-called ‘inland’ municipalities of French Guiana. It covers the municipalities of Camopi, Saint Georges de l’Oyapock, Régina, Papaïchton, Grand Santi and Maripasoula.

The project:

To install battery energy storage systems (BESS), initially solar-powered, then combined with hydroelectric power. They are scheduled to come online between 2027 and 2029.

eocen’s added value:

  • Coaching and mentoring of project management teams
  • Structuring of milestones and activities in a hybrid mode
  • A fresh, impartial perspective on certain projects
